Τα Gap Stores, η γνωστή Βρετανική αλυσίδα, χρησιμοποιούν σε μεγάλο βαθμό, και με έξυπνο τρόπο τα κοινωνικά δίκτυα για να διαδώσουν τις διάφορες προσφορές που έχουν στα καταστήματα τους.
Πως αλλιώς, θα μπορούσαν να κυκλοφορήσουν οι προσφορές του μέσα σε λίγες ώρες και να γίνουν τα προσφερόμενα είδη ανάρπαστα;
Φυσικά μόνο μέσω των κοινωνικών δικτύων.
Το Gap λοιπόν προσέφερε 25% έκπτωση σε όλα τα ρούχα στα καταστήματα του σε όλους τους χρήστες του Foursquare.com που θα έκαναν checkin σε συνδυασμό με ένα event που το ονομάζει “The BlackMagic Event.”
Η προσφορά είταν για μία μόνο ημέρα.
Η ίδια προσφορά είταν διαθέσιμη και μέσω Twitter και Facebook στους χρήστες, αλλά οι χρήστες του Facebook έπρεπε να εκτυπώσουν ένα κουπόνι, ενώ οι χρήστες του Twitter έπρεπε να πούν ένα κωδικό όταν πήγαιναν στο ταμείο να πληρώσουν εάν είθελαν να πάρουν την έκπτωση.
Επειδή υπήρξαν περιπτώσεις που ο ταμίας δεν γνώριζε τον κωδικό πολλοί καταναλωτές έπρεπε να πάνε στο ταμείο κάνοντας checkin στο Foursquare.com και εκεί έπρεπε να δείξουν το κινητό τους.
Να σημειωθεί ότι αυτή την περίοδο το Gap προσφέρει σημαντικές εκπτώσεις σε όλους τους online (μόνο) αγοραστές.
Η σχέση του Foursquare με τη μόδα άρχισε λίγου μήνες πιο μπροστά όταν η Ann Taylor προσέφερε 25% έκπτωση στους Foursquare mayors και 15% σε κάθε πελάτη στο πέμπτο του checkin.
